About The Author
Chris Elmore, in his own words: “I learned to play my guitar in exactly
one month using the same tips and tricks contained in this course and I
cannot believe the success I have had… I have played on stage. I have
won best guitarist competitions. I have been in recording studios… (and)
I have played besides major artists on tour.”
The Goals Of The Guitar Tips Course:
1. “ …to teach young students how to play a guitar in a fun and
interactive way - without breaking the bank.”
2. “ …to play the electric / acoustic guitar in just 30 days.”
The one time fee of $27 for a lifetime membership to the Guitar Tips
online guitar lessons program opens the door to 70 different lessons
ranging in topics from how to hold, tune and string the guitar to how to
play some of the great song classics. The course effectively uses video,
audio, photos and written text to teach each lesson. The total lessons
package consists of four main parts:
1.
Guitar Tips;
the complete A to Z guitar playing fundamentals course
2.
Guitar Leads; a sampling of a larger course that can be purchased
separately
2.
Backing Tracks for playing along with a recorded band ( a sampling
of the larger course)
4.
Guitar Songs: learn to play famous songs ( a sampling of the larger
course )

The Negatives
The videos are small in screen size, lack close ups, are a little on the
dark side. This means that the detail of the right and left hands in the
lesson demonstrations can be difficult to view. Fortunately
Guitar Tips
has an unusually simple and convenient option for downloading, ( for
either Macs or PCs ), the entire website with one easy click of the
mouse. This means that it may be possible to burn a DVD to watch on a
television with a relatively large screen. I downloaded the contents of
the
Guitar Tips
website in less than 15 minutes using a DSL connection that had a
download speed of about 200kbs. An older phone line connection with a
56k modem may take as long as 1 to 2 hours.
Chris Elmore’s communication on his video lessons, while adequate, is
not always perfectly clear and logical. His voice, however, is clear and
distinct. His written communication is somewhat better than the videos.
The Bottom Line
This course is thorough, logically laid out and plenty of fun especially
when the lessons focus on playing famous songs from great artists like,
Steve Vai, Lynard Skynard, Santana, Limp Bizkit and many more.
The lifetime membership price, at this writing, for the
Guitar Tips
online lessons program is only $27. That’s about what it would cost for
only 45 minutes with a live teacher where you might only learn how to
hold and tune the guitar. Instead Guitar Tips offers over a years worth
of lessons ( 70 in all ), that you can enjoy in your own home when ever
its convenient. To purchase this one, at such a reasonable price should
be an easy decision. In fact, while you are at it why not buy
memberships for your friends and family too!
